The Bishop has appointed the Reverend Chris Burke as our new Residentiary Canon for Learning and Development.

Chris will be primarily responsible for growing and resourcing the Cathedral congregation, but he will also sit on the Cathedral’s Business Management Group. Chris will be installed as Canon in a special service at the Cathedral on Sunday 12 September 2010.
 
Chris is currently Rector of St Dunstan and All Saints in Stepney, in the east end of London. Before this, he worked in challenging parishes in Middlesborough and Cleveland. He has been an TA Chaplain, and also worked in Leeds and Japan. Most importantly, he is a Yorkshireman.
 
Chris is married to Helen who is a GP, and they have two small children, Hannah (aged 4) and Laura (2). In his spare time, Chris practises karate: he is soon to acquire a black belt. He is also running in the London Marathon at the end of the month.
