Staff and leadership
The leadership of the Cathedral is the responsibility of the Dean and a Cathedral Chapter made up of clergy and lay people, but there are many others who work together to sustain and develop the ministry here.
The
Cathedral Office is open from 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Clergy
The Very Reverend Peter Bradley
Peter is the Dean of Sheffield .The word dean comes from the Latin for sergeant, and Peter’s ministry is to be a sort of sergeant of the diocese! He holds three main roles. He is the senior priest of the Diocese, and works closely with the Bishops to support them in their ministries of oversight, for example, by sharing in clergy reviews. The Bishops share with the Dean their mission to organizations that fall outside the parish system, and our responsibilities as the Established Church. As a consequence, Peter spends much of his time developing new relationships with business and community leaders, in pastoral care and evangelism. Finally, he is the senior priest at the Bishop’s Church, the Cathedral, and he leads the team of clergy and lay people who share in the mission of the Cathedral ‘to know, love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ, and so become true witnesses to God’s kingdom, and a place for all people’.
The Revd Canon Dr Joanne Grenfell
Joanne is a Residentiary Canon. Within the Cathedral Joanne has over sight of the Guide and Welcomer teams, communications, environmental concerns, and the Cathedral’s work with children. In the Diocese, she is Director of Ordinands, a post which involves guiding people who feel called to be priests in the Church of England through a process of discernment and selection; and is also Dean of Women's Ministry. Joanne will be on maternity leave from January to October 2010.
The Revd Canon Simon Cowling
Simon is the Canon Precentor. The name ‘Precentor’ has historically been given to the person in the church who leads the choir and congregation in singing. So as Canon Precentor, Simon is responsible for the planning and direction of Cathedral worship and special services. He works closely with everyone who is connected to the worship in the Cathedral; mostly these people are the musicians, vergers, lay people, and other clergy
The Revd Captain Mike Reeder
Mike is the Cathedral Curate. He is also Chaplain to St Luke's Hospice.

Lay Chapter Members
Syd Williams
Syd is a Cathedral Warden, representing the congregation within the Chapter.
Graham Millar
Graham Millar is also a Cathedral Warden. He has worshipped at the Cathedral for the last eight years. Having previously worked at Voluntary Action Sheffield, Graham now works at Key Fund Yorkshire. He is married to Alison and they have three children.
David Thurkettle
David is the Cathedral Treasurer and is a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Sarah Bowler
Sarah was formerly Chief Executive of Relate, the national marital and couple counselling service. She has also worked to support Forces' families, been a member of Feltham Borstal Board of Visitors, and has held a variety of roles in public sector governance.
David Fletcher
David is a historian by training, and formerly Registrar of the University of Sheffield.
