New canons for the Cathedral

Pastoral care

The Cathedral in the middle of the city is used by all sorts of people as a place of refuge and calm.   You may like to sit and get life in perspective, or you may like to talk about something that is troubling you.
 
Sometimes being anonymous is helpful if you are looking for someone to talk with, and that will be respected.  You choose what to disclose.

Voluntary chaplains
A sign by the entrance will tell you if there is a voluntary chaplain available.
 
He or she will be experienced in listening, and will offer you time and attention if you would like to talk ...

Talking with clergy
Often there is a priest available if you call in.  Ask a welcomer or a verger.

You can trust that what you say is held in confidence and will not be disclosed to others without your agreement, except if it relates to criminal behaviour involving children, in which case we will inform ...
